A bus crashed into an apartment building in Koganei, Tokyo, Thursday after knocking down a traffic light and a bus stop sign, police said. The 49-year-old bus driver was injured.

No passengers were on the bus, which left the bus shed and was heading to JR Musashikoganei Station, according to the police. The bus was run by Keio Bus Koganei Co., a subsidiary of Keio Dentetsu Bus Co.

The bus drove eratically, running onto a pavement on the opposite side of the road, and stopped after crashing into the apartment building on the left side of the street, they said. None of the residents was injured.

The police are investigating the case, including the health condition of the driver, who has more than 20 years of experience.
