Hoshino Resort to open Bali hotel

JIJI

Hoshino Resort Co. said it will open a luxury hotel on the Indonesian resort island of Bali in 2014, the first overseas hotel for the Japanese resort and hotel operator.

At a news conference Thursday in Tokyo, Hoshino Resort President Yoshiharu Hoshino said the firm hopes to globally promote a sense of “omotenashi,” or a Japanese way of hospitality, by first advancing into Bali, where competition is fierce.

The new hotel, Hoshinoya Bali, will have 30 guest rooms. One night’s stay is expected to cost about $700.
