Tokyo Skytree drew 1.77 million during Golden Week

The number of visitors to Tokyo Skytree hit 1.77 million during the first Golden Week since it opened last year, its operator said.

The number of visitors to the 634-meter tower and surrounding facilities between April 27 and Monday exceeded the 1.64 million recorded in the tower’s first week after opening, Tobu Tower Skytree Co. said Tuesday.

During Golden Week, some 193,000 people visited the tower’s two observation decks.

On Saturday, about 2,000 people lined up before the tower opened at 8 a.m.
