The Japan Tourism Agency on Wednesday nullified the business license of Amuse-Travel Co., the organizer of a trekking tour to China's Great Wall region that resulted in the November deaths of three Japanese tourists in blizzard conditions.

In organizing the tour between Oct. 28 and Nov. 5, Amuse-Travel lacked the appropriate oversight and neglected to prepare a means of communication for a place where mobile phones do not work, the agency said.

Three Japanese tourists — a man and two women — died on Nov. 4 after being caught in heavy snow near the Great Wall in the suburbs of Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province.
