The Seibu Lions have acquired 32-year-old right-hander Felipe Paulino, the Pacific League club announced Sunday.

Paulino's fastball tops out over 150 kph and he is being looked at as a possible solution to the Lions' starting-pitching shortage.

In his major league career, Paulino is 13-34 over six seasons with four clubs. He last pitched in the big leagues in 2014 with the Chicago White Sox.

"He has a wealth of experience and makes good decisions when runners are on base," said Haruhiko Suzuki, the Lions head of baseball operations.
