Japanese shooters Takatoshi Furukawa and Hironori Watanabe nailed a combined eight 3-pointers to lead the Link Tochigi Brex to a 76-59 win over the Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins in Game 2 of the best-of-three first round of the NBL playoffs on Sunday.

Furukawa led the game with 23 points while Watanabe had 16 and league MVP Ryan Rossiter racked up 14 points and 16 rebounds to help the Brex complete the series sweep in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Pref.

For Mitsubishi, former scoring champ Takuya Kawamura scored 19 points.

In Kariya, Aichi Pref., big man Isaac Butts had a double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds to help Aisin punch its ticket to the second round with a win over Hitachi.

Guard Makoto Hiejima hit four 3-pointers and scored a total 16 points for Aisin.

For Hitachi, ex-MVP Josh Heytvelt didn't play for the second straight game.

Brave Thunders 81, Levanga 68

In Yokohama, five players scored in double digits as Toshiba wrapped up a series sweep of Hokkaido.

Japan national team player Naoto Tsuji led Toshiba with 19 points.

For Hokkaido, American Jerome Tillman had 21 points and 11 rebounds.

All four first-round series ended in sweeps. The Toyota Alvark will take on Aisin in Tokyo while Link Tochigi will host Toshiba in the semifinals, which begin next Saturday.
