Yomiuri Giants starter Tomoyuki Sugano saw his scoreless streak end at 30 innings on Thursday and his team blew a three-run lead in a 3-3 tie after 12 innings against the Hanshin Tigers on Thursday night.

Hayato Sakamoto, who went deep twice in Wednesday's 11-1 win, opened the scoring by cracking a three-run shot off Hanshin starter Randy Messenger over the wall in the third inning at Koshien Stadium.

But Sugano saw his streak end in the bottom of the fifth when Sakamoto made a throwing error at first base to bring home Mauro Gomez.

Gomez then hit a solo homer off Hirokazu Sawamura — his eighth of the season — to move the Tigers within one run in the bottom of the ninth before pinch hitter Fumihito Haraguchi's sac fly made it a 3-3 game.

Swallows 6, Carp 4

At Tokyo's Jingu Stadium, Tokyo Yakult overturned a two-run deficit against Hiroshima as Yuhei Takai and Keiji Obiki both had two-run RBIs in a six-run first inning to help the Swallows snap a three-game losing skid.

Yakult starter Nagisa Arakaki gave up four runs in six innings and got the win in his first appearance of the season.

Dragons 9, BayStars 2

At Yokohama Stadium, Chunichi's Ryosuke Hirata hit a tying two-run homer in the fourth inning and Kei Ono homered in a five-run sixth as the Dragons rallied to beat the BayStars.

Chunichi starter Ryosuke Oguma pitched seven innings of two-run ball for his third victory of the season.
