The Mongolian yokozuna duo of Hakuho and Harumafuji both posted handsome victories to move into a share of the lead on Friday, the sixth day of the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament.

Hakuho and Harumafuji improved to 5-1 and rejoined the front-running pack after overnight co-leaders Takayasu and Kaisei were both saddled with their first defeats of the 15-day basho. A total of nine wrestlers are tied for the lead.

Seeking his seventh consecutive title and 35th career Emperor's Cup, Hakuho dodged a bullet in Thursday's win over Aminishiki, but was back to his imperious best in Friday's penultimate bout at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan.
