The Chicago Cubs said Sunday that they have placed left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada on the 15-day disabled list because of an injury to his left thigh.
The move has been made retroactive to March 27, meaning Wada can come off the DL as early as April 11.
The 34-year-old Wada, who went 4-4 with a 3.25 ERA last season and is being counted on as part of Chicago's rotation, was hurt March 13 during an exhibition start. He is steadily recovering, but just not in time for the start of the season.
