The defending Kanto champion Hosei University Tomahawks will take on the archrival Nihon University Phoenix for the Kanto Collegiate League championship in the Azuma Bowl on Sunday at Yokohama Stadium.
The Kanto football powerhouses will be battling for the Kanto crown for the third consecutive season. The Tomahawks took the title with a 23-22 victory last year, while the Phoenix earned a 27-17 victory in 2011.
The Kanto champion will meet Tohoku University on Dec. 1 to decide the East Japan representative that advances to the Koshien Bowl, the collegiate national championship game, to play the West Japan winner, which will be decided next month.
