Japan midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake scored his first goal of the season with a stunning late free kick to earn Nuremburg a 2-2 draw at home to Hajime Hosogai's Hertha Berlin on Sunday.

Josip Drmic gave the home side the lead shortly before the interval, but Hertha drew level thanks to a deflected effort from Sami Allagui, before a Ronny penalty put them in front.

But Kiyotake earned his side a share of the spoils with an unstoppable free kick that flew past the motionless Thomas Kraft and into the corner of the net.

"I didn't get myself in front of goal on too many occasions and I just had to do what I had to do," said Kiyotake. "We have Bayern Munich next and I would like us to have won this game."

Hosogai played the 90 minutes for Hertha.
