Former Lotte Marines, Yomiuri Giants and Orix Buffaloes slugger Lee Seung-yeop became greatest home run hitter in South Korean baseball on Thursday, Yonhap news agency reported.
Lee, 36, belted his 352nd career homer in the Samsung Lions game against the SK Wyverns in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) to overtake retired All-Star Yang Joon-hyuk as the league's all-time leader, according to Yonhap.
Lee started his career in Japan in 2004 with Lotte after setting an Asian baseball record with 56 home runs in 2003 in South Korea.
He helped Lotte win the Japan Series in his second year and moved to the Yomiuri Giants in 2006 for a five-year stint. He joined Orix in 2011 but left after one season after batting only .201 with 15 homers and 51 RBIs in 122 games.
He has a career total of 511 home runs, including 159 in Japan.
