Sara Takanashi missed out on a fifth consecutive World Cup ski jump victory Friday, finishing second to American Sarah Hendrickson in Trondheim, Norway, at the season's penultimate event.

The 16-year-old Takanashi, who has already secured the overall World Cup title, landed the day's longest jump of 105 meters and followed it up with a 100-meter effort. Her points total of 274.9 fell shy of the 283.0 posted by Hendrickson, who received higher marks for her landings.

Jacqueline Seifriedsberger of Austria came in third at 271.2.

"I feel some regret about my showing today," Takanashi said. "I could see that I have more work to do.

"(Sunday's) season finale will be the first large hill World Cup event (for women), so I'm looking forward to that. I really want to bring my best jumps."
