Sara Takanashi collected her second medal of the Nordic skiing world championships after Japan won a gold in the mixed team ski jumping Sunday.

The 16-year-old Takanashi teamed up with Yuki Ito and male jumpers Daiki Ito and Taku Takeuchi for Japan's first gold at the world championships since 2009.

Japan scored 1,011.0 points, holding off Austria with 986.7 points. Germany came third with 984.9.

Takanashi, the newly crowned World Cup champion, won silver on Friday in the individual event.

"Thanks to my teammates, I had a great time jumping," said Takanashi, who led the team on both jumps, soaring to a 106.5 meters on her second attempt.

"The joy and happiness I have from this event weighs so much more than what I gained from the individual. My teammates told me I've been jumping well and that I needed to keep the faith."
