Golfer Ai Miyazato, who had been involved in a multicar collision Sunday, was diagnosed at a hospital with whiplash after arriving at her destination in Singapore where she is scheduled to play in the HSBC Women's Champions, her manager said Monday.

Miyazato will decide over the coming days whether or not she will play in the tournament getting under way Thursday, depending on her condition.

After the accident, the 27-year-old former world No. 1 complained of discomfort along her neck and back but said she was feeling better after having received treatment.

According to Miyazato's manager, the accident happened at about 7 p.m.
