Newly promoted J.League first-division side Shonan Bellmare announced Saturday they have acquired former Bolivia forward Edvaldo, who had been playing at Thai Premier League champion Muangthong United.

The 27-year-old Edvaldo is a citizen of both Brazil and Bolivia. He played for Bolivia in 2011. His contract is conditional upon his passing a physical in Japan.

Bellmare, who earned promotion after finishing second in the J2 last season, also announced they were sending 28-year-old defender Takahiro Yamaguchi to the J.League's newest club, second-division V-Varen Nagasaki. Yamaguchi had been with Shonan since 2007, when he turned pro out of Waseda University. He played in 10 games last season.
