Japanese teen Sara Takanashi made her second podium finish in as many days Sunday but settled for third in a women's ski jumping World Cup meet in Sochi, Russia.

The 16-year-old Takanashi, who was runner-up in the normal hill event a day earlier, had a mammoth leap of 97.0 meters on her first attempt but faltered on her second run with a jump of 91.5 meters, giving her 228.9 points.

Daniela Iraschko of Austria tied France's Coline Mattel for the top podium spot with 231.1 for their first victories this season.

Yuki Ito, Yurina Yamada and Ayumi Watase were 10th, 23rd and 29th, respectively. Yurika Hirayama and Yoshiko Kasai failed to advance to the second round of jumps.

The World Cup men's and women's competitions are doubling as a test event for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
