Masahiro Tanaka had his scoreless streak snapped at 16 innings but settled for his second straight complete-game win as the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles edged the Chiba Lotte Marines 2-1 on Tuesday.

Tanaka (2-0) struck out 10 and scattered three hits with three walks and a hit batter in Pacific League action at Chiba Marine Stadium.

Rakuten took a 2-0 lead on an RBI single by Daisuke Kusano in the fourth inning and a run-scoring double from Yosuke Takasu in the fifth, both off Shunsuke Watanabe (0-1).

Kazuya Fukuura broke up Tanaka's shutout bid with a two-out RBI single to right-center, but pinch runner Keisuke Hayasaka was tagged out at home plate trying to score the tying run from first.

At Kumamoto's Fujisakidai Stadium, Hiroshi Hirao singled in two runs and Takayuki Kishi threw eight effective innings as Seibu beat Softbank to notch its fourth win in five games.

At Sapporo Dome, Tuffy Rhodes drove in three runs with a single and his fourth homer of the season as Orix held off a late Hokkaido Nippon Ham charge for its fourth win in a row.

At Mazda Stadium, Takehiro Ishikawa singled in two runs in a four-run sixth inning and Hayato Terahara threw seven-plus innings of one-run ball, leading Yokohama over Hiroshima.
