Several boys pushed two people who were fishing off separate jetties into the sea in Osaka early Monday morning, according to police.

Both victims managed to climb out of the water by themselves and were not injured. Osaka police are looking for the boys and intend to charge them with attempted murder.

At around 6:10 a.m. on Monday, a 13-year-old boy who was fishing with two friends in the city of Kishiwada was pushed by a teenager into the sea. About five people, including the teenage suspect, were also fishing nearby just before the incident happened.

Then, at around 7:05 a.m., a 56-year-old man was also pushed by two boys off a pier into the sea in the town of Tadaoka, about 2 km away from where the earlier incident occurred. The boys, one apparently in his early teens and the other a bit younger, asked the man if he had caught anything and then suddenly pushed him from behind.

Another man who saw what happened called the police.

Officers searching the area found the 13-year-old boy soaking wet as he was going home at around 7:30 a.m. The boy said teenagers he didn't know pushed him into the sea in Kishiwada.
