Child consultation centers will likely be allowed to focus on urgent cases that require them to take temporary custody of abused children.
That will be the recommendation of a panel of experts on preventing child abuse, scheduled to be submitted before the end of December, which the welfare ministry is expected to approve.
When a child consultation center receives information on suspected child abuse, officials are required to conduct a personal visit to check on the family, generally within 48 hours.
