Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed hope Tuesday of holding further talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and overcoming difficulties in the bilateral relationship.

"I believe whatever issues (face our countries), we would be able to find a solution through frank dialogue between the leaders," Abe said at a news conference in Beijing after a two-day summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.

Describing Japan's ties with China as "unseverable," Abe said that "the two countries need each other."
