Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said Thursday its group net profit in the April-September first half jumped 71.3 percent from a year earlier to ¥32.81 billion.

Consolidated operating profit soared 59.8 percent to ¥75.47 billion on ¥1.51 trillion in sales, up 13.6 percent.

The heavy machinery maker received ¥1.57 trillion worth of orders, up 55.7 percent.

Mitsubishi Heavy left its earnings estimates for the full year unchanged, projecting that group net profit will rise 2.7 percent to ¥100 billion on ¥3.15 trillion in sales, up 11.8 percent.
