A party taking place in Tokyo this weekend aims to support the disaster-stricken northeast of Japan through a night of club music ranging from organic and jazzy house to solid techno.

The Red Dot Relief Tokyo charity party is being organized by Parties 4 Peace, which was created by Emilie McGlone, the international coordinator for Japanese NGO Peace Boat. The event will take place June 25 at club Favela in Tokyo's Minami Aoyama district.

"Through the event we hope to raise awareness about the current situation in (the tsunami-hit city of) Ishinomaki," explains McGlone. "Our aim is to help relieve some of their suffering and make a positive difference in the region."
