Gyokuro came to ARK after she was rescued by a Canadian man. She was starving and flea-infested. Now about 7 months old, Gyokuro is as healthy and sweet as she is pretty. Her name, which comes from a variety of refined green tea grown in the shade, translates as "jewel dew." The tea variety is also known as "jade dew" for its delicate green color. Though her naming was supposedly random, it may not have been a coincidence. She is like a jewel — quietly affectionate and easy to get along with. And she has a certain delicacy about her. She is neither bossy nor forward, and does everything in a reserved manner. Though she enjoys companionship, she doesn't demand it or need it all the time. Gyokuro would surely add a touch of class to any home.

If you are interested in adopting Gyokuro, email ARK at [email protected] or call 050-1557-2763 Monday to Saturday (bilingual) for more information. Tokyo ARK is an NPO founded by Briton Elizabeth Oliver. It is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned animals. All animals are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Prospective owners are requested to undergo a screening process.
