Northern lights likely to be seen in Hokkaido again in 2024
Solar activity is forecast to increase toward 2025, likely leading to opportunities to see the ethereal curtains of lights.
The Mikomotojima Lighthouse in Shimoda, Shizuoka Prefecture, was designed by Richard Henry Brunton, a Scotsman who was employed by the Meiji government to build lighthouses across Japan in the 19th century.
