Leopalace21 braces for ¥27.3 billion net loss for fiscal 2019
Rental apartment operator Leopalace21 Corp. posted net losses of ¥24.4 billion ($223 million) for the April-September period on Friday, with sales falling 13.3 percent to ¥221.5 billion from the same period last year.

Hazards of dementia manifesting in residential complexes
When rescue workers responded to a midnight emergency call from an Osaka apartment unit in August 2016 and rushed to the scene, they first had to climb over piles of junk including empty cans and leftover food. Among it, they found a dehydrated elderly woman whose thinking was muddled; nearby was her older sister who was suffering from dementia and in a state of confusion.

Dojunkai shown for last time
The last two remaining Dojunkai apartment complexes, once considered a symbol of Japanese architectural prowess, were shown to reporters Wednesday before they are demolished in June and their 84-year history comes to an end.
