New York Yankees right-hander Masahiro Tanaka, who has been on the disabled list with strains in both hamstrings, is scheduled to start next week, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Friday.

Tanaka, who has been on the DL since June 9, will start Tuesday night in the third game of a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Boone also said the plan for now is for CC Sabathia to start Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader.

The 29-year-old Takanka left the June 8 Subway Series opener in the sixth inning after scoring his first major league run.

In a Triple-A rehab start on July 4, Tanaka gave up two runs on three hits and retired 14 batters in a row in a five-inning, 69-pitch outing.

Before he was placed on the DL, Tanaka went 7-2 with an ERA of 4.58 in 13 starts.
