The Yomiuri Giants have acquired former Seattle Mariners reliever Arquimedes Caminero on a one-year deal reportedly worth $1.15 million (roughly ¥140 million), the Central League club announced Saturday.

The hard-throwing right-hander, who made his major league debut in 2013 with the Miami Marlins, started the 2015 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates but was traded to the Mariners in August.

The 29-year-old is 7-5 with one save in 149 big league games, logging a 3.83 ERA. The Dominican becomes the second player this winter to receive his release by Seattle in order to sign with a Japanese club. Outfielder Stefan Romero joined the Orix Buffaloes last month.
