Hiroshi Iwata shot a 7-under-par 65 on Thursday to earn a share of fourth place after the first round of the PGA's RSM Classic.
Iwata carded an eagle and five birdies against one bogey to equal the best score of the day on Seaside Resort's Plantation Course in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Mackenzie Hughes of Canada shot a 9-under 61 on the Seaside Course to take the first-round lead, while Americans Stewart Cink and Jonathan Byrd were at 8 under on the same course.
