Toyota announced on Tuesday that Finnish driver Juho Hanninen will compete for the Japanese manufacturer in its return to the top level of world rally racing in 2017.
A former European rally champion, the 35-year-old Hanninen steps up from his role as test driver in the Toyota GAZOO team managed by legendary four-time World Rally Championship winner Tommi Makinen.
In his former role, Hanninen was responsible for readying the Toyota Yaris for its first outing at the 2017 Monte-Carlo rally.
