The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles announced Friday they have terminated right-hander Kenny Ray's contract and placed him on waivers.
The 41-year-old was 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA in four starts this season in his third year with the Pacific League club.
Ray was 0-1 for the Eagles in 2013 and rejoined them in 2015 when he posted a 5-7 record.
