Two-time reigning Asian champion Japan women’s basketball team was on Friday drawn into a 2016 Rio Olympic tournament group with world No. 2 team Australia and host Brazil.

Japan, which qualified for the Olympic tournament by beating China in the final of the FIBA Asia Championship in September 2015, will not know the other three teams in Group A until after a qualifying tournament to be held in France in June.

The seven-time Olympic champions from the United States were drawn in Group B with Canada, Senegal and Serbia.
