The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles' scheduled game against the Pacific League-leading Fukuoka Softbank Hawks on Friday was canceled due to damage at Kobo Stadium caused by Thursday's widespread flooding in northeastern Japan, the club said.

The outfield, bullpen and some spectator seats have been affected by the heavy rainfall, as well as the stadium's big screen.

Transport has also been affected and Rakuten announced the cancellation at 1 p.m.

"The trains probably aren't even running. It can't be helped," Eagles manager Hiromoto Okubo said.
