Ryo Ishikawa won next season's U.S. PGA Tour card after finishing 31st at the Wyndham Championship and placing 124th in the FedEx Cup standings on Sunday.

Ishikawa also qualified for the first of four tournaments of the FedEx Cup playoffs starting Thursday, the Barclays. A tour card and a place at the Barclays are awarded to the top 125 players.

Starting the final round of the last regular-season event in 47th, Ishikawa had an eagle, four birdies and two bogeys for a 4-under 66 at the par-70 Sedgefield Country Club, carding a 9-under 271 total.

American Davis Love III won the title with a 263. Ishikawa improved from 130th to 124th in the FedEx Cup standings, but swore to wrap things up faster next year.

"I had to climb up, and managed to mount a challenge for the last three days. I played as I planned," said Ishikawa, who eagled the No. 5 and had three birdies over the last six holes on Nos. 13, 15 and 17.

"If I do everything I can at my disposal on each and every hole, I can put up numbers like this. Next season, I'm going to rack up the points a lot faster than I did this season."
