Midfielder Naoyuki Fujita and goalkeeper Yuji Rokutan have been added to Japan's East Asian Cup team, the Japan Football Association announced Thursday.

Fujita, who plays for Sagan Tosu, and Rokutan of Vegalta Sendai will replace Yosuke Kashiwagi and Shuichi Gonda, respectively. Kashiwagi, who plays for Urawa Reda, has suffered an injury, while FC Tokyo keeper Gonda is in poor health.

The competition in Wuhan, China, will start on Saturday and run through Aug. 9.
