Albirex Niigata striker Rafael Silva has been ruled out for six weeks with a right hamstring strain, the J. League club said Friday.

The 23-year-old, who has bagged seven goals in 12 games so far this season, hurt his hamstring while training on July 9 and is heading back to his native Brazil for further examination and treatment.

Silva started his professional career at Coritiba in Brazil and moved to Swiss side Lugano before joining Albirex in the summer of 2014.
