Luis Mendoza held the Seibu Lions to three hits over seven scoreless innings as the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters won their fourth straight game with a 10-0 victory Sunday.

Mendoza (5-4) fanned seven and allowed two walks to win his third straight start for Nippon Ham, which swept the three-game series and sent Seibu to its fourth loss in a row.

Shogo Akiyama was the lone bright spot for the Lions, stretching his hitting streak to 31 games — two shy of the Japanese baseball record held by former Hiroshima Carp shortstop Yoshihiko Takahashi.
