Former North Korea international striker Chong Tese will return to the J. League to join Shimizu S-Pulse from South Korean K-League club Suwon Bluewings, S-Pulse said Thursday.

The 31-year-old Chong, who played in the J. League with Kawasaki Frontale from 2006-10 before moving to Germany, will come to Japan after Suwon's league game on Sunday and is scheduled to be unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday.

Chong has scored 46 goals in 112 appearances in the J. League first division. He had spells in Germany with Bochum and Cologne before joining Suwon in 2013.

He played for North Korea at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Shimizu finished bottom of the first-stage standings in the league with three wins, four draws and 10 defeats.

S-Pulse play Vissel Kobe at home in the first round of second-stage matches on Saturday.
