Arrangements are being made for a title match between WBA super flyweight champion Kohei Kono and No.2 ranked Koki Kameda to fight in the United States this summer, the Watanabe Boxing Gym said Wednesday.

"We haven't worked out all the details of the conditions but we're close to an agreement," said gym president Hitoshi Watanabe.

In March, the World Boxing Association ordered both camps to hold a mandatory world title match.

But Kameda along with his two brothers have been effectively banned from fighting in Japan since the Japan Boxing Commission imposed sanctions on the Kameda Boxing Gym.

Kono is planning to depart for a training camp in Los Angeles on Thursday before returning next Wednesday to get himself acclimated to the time zone and new environment on the premise the fight will go ahead as planned.
