Ice dancer Cathy Reed, who skated for Japan at both the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Games, said on Sunday she will retire from competition.

The 27-year-old said she had made up her mind to call it quits after the World Figure Skating Championships in March, where she finished in 22nd place — outside the 20 pairs who reached the final — with partner and younger brother Chris Reed.

Chris Reed, 25, will seek out another partner to compete at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

Cathy and Chris Reed were born in the United States to an American father and Japanese mother. Their highest placing in eight world championship appearances was 13th. The pair came 17th at the Vancouver Games for their best Olympics result.
