Nearly two months after the Yokohama BayStars revealed they had come to terms with slugging Cuban infielder Yulieski Gurriel, the Central League club finally announced his signing Monday.

Gurriel, 30, joined Yokohama midway through the 2014 season and batted .305 with 11 home runs and 30 RBIs over 62 games. He played 35 games at second base and 29 at third for the BayStars, who finished fifth last season, 14½ games back of the league champion Yomiuri Giants.
