Inter Milan defender Yuto Nagatomo says he is unconcerned over the alleged involvement of Japan coach Javier Aguirre in a match-fixing scandal in Spain and says all the players can do is keep their faith in him.

"All we have to do is trust and follow him. There are no worries," Nagatomo said after arriving back in Japan on Tuesday.

"The players are talking to each other and saying we just need to work as a solid unit."

Nagatomo revealed retirement had crossed his mind after Japan flopped at the World Cup in Brazil in the summer but he has got his appetite back again and hopes to help the Blue Samurai defend their title at the Jan. 9-31 Asian Cup in Australia.

"I didn't enjoy soccer and thought about a second career (after the World Cup)," said Nagatomo. "I want to do my best going into our title defense of the Asian Cup."
