KOBE – Vissel Kobe on Friday named former Kashiwa Reysol boss Nelsinho as the J. League first-division club’s manager for next season.
The 64-year-old Nelsinho, who stepped down as Kashiwa coach at the end of this season, takes over from Ryo Adachi, who quit after Kobe finished the campaign in 11th place.
“I am really determined to get results,” Nelsinho said. “I have to have a group of winners. It’s up to me to win titles.”
Nelsinho, who has also managed Nagoya Grampus among other J. League teams, was appointed Kashiwa manager in July 2009.
The club was relegated to J2 that year but won promotion back to the top division in 2010 before winning the league championship in 2011.
