OSAKA – Buoyed by a 6-0 demolition of Honduras on Friday, Japan coach Javier Aguirre has called for more of the same when the Samurai Blue take on Asian Cup hosts Australia on Tuesday in their final match before launching their defense of the continental title in January.
“I’ve told the players what I want. They were solid on the pitch last time (against Honduras), and I want them to keep working hard on and off the ball,” the Mexican told a press conference on the eve of the match at Osaka’s Yanmar Stadium.
