Kawasaki Frontale's two-time World Cup striker Yoshito Okubo has received a two-match ban for smashing an advertising board during a match over the weekend, the J. League announced on Thursday.

Okubo kicked the board in Saturday's 1-1 draw away to Nagoya Grampus and on grounds of "intended destruction of property" will be suspended for the next two league games after the international break on Sept. 13 and 20 against Tokushima Vortis and FC Tokyo, respectively.

Okubo is J1's top scorer for Kawasaki, which is in fourth place on 40 points, four points off the pace of Urawa Reds.
