Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda hit the mark to score his first Italian League goal in AC Milan's 2-1 victory over Genoa on Monday.

Honda, who debuted with Milan on Jan. 12, scored in his 12th match to become the eighth Japanese player to score in the Serie A.

Adel Taarabt set up Honda to double Milan's lead against the run of play in the 56th minute, finding the midfielder outside the area to smash a left-footed shot past Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

It was Honda's first goal since starting for Milan in the fifth-round Italian Cup match at home to second-division Spezia in January.
