Yu Darvish may not pitch in the Texas Rangers' season opener after all, the right-hander saying Sunday that his stiff neck is not getting better.

After missing his last scheduled start Friday, Darvish had said he was fine and that he would be ready for Opening Day on March 31 against the Philadelphia Phillies.

However on Sunday, Darvish still hadn't practiced with the rest of the team and continued to receive treatment on his neck, which will keep him out of his next start set for Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners.

"My neck is completely out of place," said Darvish, who injured his neck by sleeping on it wrong. "I've been told by the team to not force anything and that's exactly what I plan on doing.

"I'm not too caught up about the season opener. What I want to do is fix my neck as soon as possible."
