London Olympic middleweight gold medalist Ryota Murata scored a fourth-round technical knockout of Brazilian Carlos Nascimento in his third professional boxing nontitle bout on Saturday.

The referee stepped in to stop the bout 43 seconds into the fourth round at Cotai Arena at the Venetian Resort, giving Murata his third consecutive KO since making his debut last August.

The 28-year-old Japanese fighter, who fought overseas for the first time since turning pro last year, floored Nascimento with a flurry of punches in the third round and had the Brazilian on the ropes in the fourth when the referee waved the bout over.

Murata became the first Japanese boxer to win an Olympic gold in 48 years. He is being promoted by renowned American promoter Top Rank.
