Daisuke Matsui has signed with the J. League's Jubilo Iwata, the J2-bound club announced on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old 2010 World Cup midfielder arrives from Poland's Lechia Gdansk. He last played in Japan 10 years ago with Kyoto Sanga before transferring to Le Mans of France.

"I thought a lot about my career, my family after spending the last 10 years in Europe," Matsui said in a statement. "It wasn't an easy decision but at the end of the day, I went through with this transfer because I wanted to play in the J. League again and I felt needed by Jubilo Iwata."

Also Tuesday, Jubilo said they have signed Brazilian striker Popo from Vissel Kobe and goalkeeper Yosuke Fujigaya from Gamba Osaka.
