Albirex Niigata said Monday they have extended the contract of manager Masaaki Yanagishita for the next J.League season.
Yanagishita took over midway through last year and miraculously kept Albirex in the top flight on the final weekend.
The 53-year-old former Jubilo Iwata coach has Albirex in 10th place with four games left this season.
